Spanish Grey Goose Shaft scroll.

Order of the Grey Goose Shaft scroll.Gouache on Bristol. I translated a standard text into Spanish. Finished size ~ 9″x 12″ excluding border. 

Text in English:

Attend all gentles unto whom these present shall come, _______________ by devotion to his chosen art of archery, has served Our Kingdom of An Tir right well, and We, Savaric, King, and Dalla, Queen, being highly pleased with his great skill, do now exercise Our Sovereign Prerogative and command his name to enter into the roll of the Order of the Grey Goose Shaft. In Witness whereof We do set Our Hand and Seal this __________ day of __________ Anno Societatis __________, being __________ Gregorian.

Text in Spanish:

Asistir a toda gente a quien los aquí presentes vendrán, _______________ por devoción a su arte elegido de tiro con arco, ha servido bien a nuestro reino de An Tir, y Nosotros, Savaric, Rey y Dalla, Reina, siendo altamente satisfechos con su gran habilidad, ahora ejercer Nuestro Soberano prerrogativa y comandar su nombre para entrar en el rollo de la Orden del Astil del Ganso Gris. En fe de lo cual, Nosotros pusimos Nuestra firma y sello esta __________ días de __________ Anno Societatis __________, siendo __________ gregoriano.

 Thoughts:

Even though this gold gouache was burnishable, I’d have been happier with gold leaf.  

This hand wants to be smaller, look for/compose a longer text next time.
